Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Looking for a restaurant that has food that’s restaurant-delicious yet at the same time gives you the home-cooked vibe? Your search is over. No over-sauce over-msg over-salty here. Just good comforting food. Case in point is the wonderful eel rice. The winter melon and bamboo pith soup is leveled-up with a small piece of Yunnan ham. Haven’t eaten Shad fish for years and years now? They have it here, complete with frying up the scales into crispy goodness."
"I love the food hear especially the sweet and sour pork, fried rice and fried tofu. Pricey for my budget but thanks to my Chinese friend, I was able to eat her."
"Yang chow is tasty, not oily. Small is enough for 4 average consumption. Spinach soup had seafood bits. Must be eaten immediately Too bad all fries chicken dishes were out of stock Staff recommended Crispy Tofu which was fried with nori. My grandson loved it. Chinese Tenderloin sauce was delicious but the meat were a mix of tender and not so tender. French Beans with mushrooms were fresh and crunchy. Lechon Macau serving size is hefty for a small serving and tasty-crunchy. Hakaw was so-so. Arrive early so you'll get a parking slot. Service is typical of a family run Chinese restaurant. Not fine dining but service is sufficient"
"Hole in the wall type. Value for money chinese food that can rival higher level restaurants."
"Hong Garden is a Chinese restaurant tucked in the suburbs of Brgy. New Baguio, San Juan City, near the gated border going to Xavier School. Their only minimum price of the meals except dimsums are P400 which is a fried rice good for 4-person servings, and I ordered the Fookien Fried Rice (Egg fried rice topped with with soy sauce, cooked mushrooms and shrimps). They have function rooms for group gatherings, but the general dine-in area are also for groups. The table uses the lazy Susan rotating circle to serve foods without the need to stand by the guests. The food also includes a complementary water or hot tea of your choice."
"Great old school flavours. The place is old school but nice and clean. Very friendly staff. Mee Sua is very tasty, worth an order"
"It”s my first time eating here, and we had an assortment of dishes here, salt pepper spareribs, garlic crab, steamed suahe, fried oysters, brocolli with abalone, sotanghon crab, vegetable with garlic, pancit canton, birds nest soup and black Gulaman and almond for dessert. Everything was good, lightly seasoned. I would go back!"
"Came here for dinner and definitely enjoyed the seafood. The crab, the shrimp was bomb and I like that they have mango sago. Must try here!"
